<p>The division bench comprising Justice K Sreedhara Rao and Justice Ravi Malimath had issued a show cause notice to the Association’s President, Secretary and Treasurer, on why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against them for writing a letter to the judges asking them to refrain from damaging any case.<br /><br />The reply was submitted to the Court on Friday. However, the Bench observed that the reply was addressed to the Registrar General and not the Court.<br /><br />AAB President KN Puttegowda responded that the notice was served by the office of the Registrar General and hence the reply was addressed to them. <br /><br />He further requested that a special sitting be convened on Saturday to hear the matter. <br />Directing them to address the reply to the Court, the matter was adjourned to January 5.<br /><br />Direction to Yenepoya <br /><br />The High Court on Friday directed Yenepoya University to admit a student into first year of MBBS. A division bench headed by Justice V Gopala Gowda directed the University to admit Kavya J S of Mangalore, by accepting the fee. <br /><br />Kavya has been allotted a seat at Yenepoya by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), but later issued another letter of admission to Father Mueller medical college. <br /><br />Based on the latter, she gave up her seat at Yenepoya, but Father Mueller’s college denier admission to her, as they did not have any vacant seats left.<br /><br />Kavya had approached the High Court, seeking directions to be allowed to retain her seat at Yenepoya and she will be admitted as directed. <br /><br /></p>
