Even as the entire Delhi unit of BJP is involved in making arrangments for Narendra Modi rally on Sunday, his own men are in the city to monitor the preparations.

Apart from monitoring preparations, sources in the party said the special team from Gujarat will also make a report card of the contribution and efforts put in by the local leaders in making the rally a success.

Insiders says the report card could also prove instrumental in deciding party candidates for the Assembly polls when the matter comes up for discussion before the parliamentary board, of which Narendra Modi is a member.

“Delhi polls are always crucial as it carries a national message. So the rally holds importance as it is being seen as an event that would build momemtum in favour of the BJP. The special team from Gujarat is closely following the proceedings related to the rally,” said a senior party leader.

The party insiders said the team is also keeping an account of the preparations and its report card will be shared with the Gujarat Chief Minister when ticket distribution is finalised.

It could also prove crucial in finalising the CM candidate of the party.

The Gujarat strongman, sources said, has the reputation of banking on his own men when it comes to assessing the ‘ground situation related to any event or party function he attends’.

“Even during the last assembly elections, Modi’s men informed him about the ground situation about the small rallies he was scheduled to address during the poll campaign in the city,” said a BJP leader.

Apart from a team of party workers monitoring rally prepartions, sources said, a special team of around 50 social media experts also arrived from Gujarat here on Thursday.
These professionals would be active in promoting the build-up to the rally, and the rally itself, through social media.

Earlier this week, a special team of Gujarat Police also visited the rally venue to assess security arrangements.
