Abhisheka today at Siddeshwara temple

Nearly, 1008 litres of milk will be used for the abhisheka which will be held from 9.45 am to 12.15 pm. Devotees irrespective of the caste and creed and from all segments of society have organised the abhisheka to Gangadhareshwara and Siddeshwaraswamy.

The Dharapatra above the linga has been connected with a plastic pipe. The milk which will flow through the pipe trickle downs to the Dharapatra and from there to the linga. The devotees can witness the abhisheka for four continuous hours. The milk used for the abhisheka will then be used in preparing sweets and prasad which will be later distributed among the devotees.

The event has been organised from past four years and each year there is an increase in the number of people taking part in the abhisheka. A special Deepotsava has also been organised on the same evening.
