<p>A gram panchayat member was arrested on Wednesday on the charge of assaulting a woman. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Srinivas alias Tempo Seena, a member of Madanayakanahalli GP, Nelamangala, had mediated in the personal matter of Nethravathi. Following a verbal due between the two, Srinivas assaulted her, tore her saree and pulled her hair, police said.<br /><br />Vital clues on ATM thief<br /><br />Malleswaram police have collected vital clues about the suspect who made an attempt to steal money from an Indian Bank ATM kiosk in Malleswaram, in the wee hours of Tuesday.<br /><br />“Initially, we were not sure who the suspect was. We have now established that it was the ATM guard himself who attempted theft,” DCP (North) Sandeep Patil said.<br /><br />There is credible information about him and the police will arrest him in a day or two. He has not fled the City but has gone into hiding, he added.<br /><br />Reacting to a report which claimed that police had arrested the suspect, Patil clarified that police had neither taken anybody into custody nor arrested anyone so far.<br /><br />The CCTV footage showed that miscreants had struck at 2 am on Tuesday. Since they had covered the CCTV camera with a newspaper, their faces weren’t captured clearly. The guard along with his aides had made the attempt, police said.<br /><br />The private security guard was posted at the kiosk just a week ago.<br /><br /></p>
