Volkswagen Group's luxury sports car maker Porsche is on a sales network expansion drive in India as part of strategy to increase foothold in the country.

Porsche India, which has opened its latest showroom in Gurgaon during the weekend, is looking to enhance its presence in East India as well to spread its reach.

"While Porsche Centre Gurgaon is our newest showroom, we are all set to open another contemporary facility soon in Mumbai which will be followed later this year by a new one at Kolkata," Porsche India Director Anil Reddi told PTI.

The company is present in eight cities -- Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

On the Gurgaon outlet, he said the facility offers 10,900 sq ft space across two levels with display space for up to 15 cars and "the world-class showroom is a tangible example of the commitment that Porsche has for the Indian market".

Porsche India is a division of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd. It has been the official importer for Porsche's range of luxury sports cars since April 1, 2012.

Its range of cars include Boxster, Cayman, 911, Cayenne and Panamera. These are available at a price range of Rs 71.17 lakh to Rs 2.66 crore.
