If there’s one thing that Tamil actress Varalaxmi Sharath Kumar has picked up from her father, veteran actor Sharath Kumar, it’s discipline. “I am on time for shoots and events too but people end up coming late. It’s annoying when people don’t keep their time,” observes Varalaxmi who is debuting in Sandalwood opposite Kicha Sudeep.

She plays the role of a village girl in the film. Varalaxmi shares, “It’s a village setting and the story has a couple of interesting twists and turns. Acting with Sudeep, for the first time, has been a rewarding experience.” And Varalaxmi is no stranger to the Kannada film industry. Her father has a close friends’ circle in the City and she too, has over time, built her network of friends here.

Varalaxmi has also completed a Tamil project ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ (MGR) in which she shares screen space with Vishal and Anjali. While things are looking pretty bright for this young lass on the professional front, Varalaxmi hopes to tie the knot with her childhood friend Vishal. The two have grown up together and it is said that they  have been going around for a while now, although both don’t want to talk about the issue just yet. “Yes, we are close but we don’t want to talk about anything just yet and set tongues wagging. Marriage will happen when the time is right,” says Varalaxmi.

In addition to acting, Varalaxmi would also like to put her skills in business to good use by venturing into production sometime. “Production is a huge responsibility and I would definitely like to try it sometime. For now, acting is good for me,” she notes.
Varalaxmi thinks that there’s no compromise with hard work. The young actress confesses that she’s on her own when it comes to choosing her projects and seeks her father’s advice only when it is absolutely necessary. “My father is always there and I seek his guidance when I get stuck. My father has taught me to be on my own and that has helped me take a lot of important steps in my life,” she signs off.
