Neighbour molests teenager

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour, Dahanakoti, 53, at her house, in Kumaraswamy Layout, on Tuesday. 

A resident of K S Layout, he was arrested after a complaint was lodged against him by the victim.

The police booked cases under IPC Sections 376 (rape) and 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage modesty of woman). The suspect, a close friend of the victim’s parents, had been to her house on Tuesday night, where her two elder sisters were busy studying inside, while the parents were away.

The victim was sitting in the hall, when Dahanakoti allegedly started misbehaving with her.

When her cries brought the two sisters out, Dahanakoti fled, police said.

Later, the victim, lodged a complaint.
