Leaderspeak

I am satisfied with the
results. Though the party is not as strong as the Congress and the JD(S) at panchayat level, it has managed to put up a good performance. I agree we should have won in Kodagu, Chikmagalur and Bangalore urban which are our strong holds.

B S Yeddyurappa,
Chief Minister

The Congress is not satisfied with the results. We expected more than what we won. Our understanding with the JD(S) did not have any adverse impact on the Congress. The Congress high command will take a decision on having an understanding with the JD(S) for the coming BBMP elections.

R V Deshpande,
KPCC president

The results have proved that people are against the BJP Government. They want the misrule of the BJP government to end. So, they have voted in favour of the Congress-JD(S) alliance.

H D Kumaraswamy, JD(S) State President

The BJP should have won all 23 seats if the amount of money the party spent in the polls are anything to go by. We have gained in some places and lost in some due to the alliance.

Siddaramaiah,
Opp leader in the Assembly

The results are warning to the BJP Government. It is a clear indication that the Government has become unpopular due to its misdeeds.

H D Revanna, JD(S) leader

The Congress has put up a good performance. This is a verdict against the BJP Government. Results in Bangalore rural, Bidar and Mysore are unexpected.

D K Shivakumar,
KPCC working president
