Construction work obstructing movement of vehicles

Junctions where overbridges are being built on the side roads available for traffic are not well-maintained. One such example is the Subash Chandra Bose Circle at Peenya on the Ring Road, where the side roads available for the movement of vehicles adjacent to the overbridge under construction are horrible due to very poor condition of the roads on both the sides.

Due to rains, the pits formed are so deep that they are nothing but graves rendering the situation bad to worse. Here, heavy vehicles move in such a way that they may lose balance any time and fall to a side crushing the small vehicles heading along the side. The overbridge work started around two years back and has still not been completed.

Is it not the collective responsibility of both the agency which has taken up the construction of the over-bridge and the BBMP to keep the adjacent roads absolutely traffic-friendly in all seasons during such construction work so that the vehicles move without any jeopardy?

Open well turns death trap

An old, huge, defunct, gaping open well at a narrow stretch of road that links Nobo Nagar and Chikkammana Halli Main Road, off Bannerghatta Main Road, a few metres away from the famous Meenakshi temple, is ready to claim as many lives as possible.

The well is not properly visible as it covered completely with an undergrowth of bushes. Many school children, office goers and residents use this road on a daily basis. Any minor mistake while traversing the road would definitely result in a major mishap. In addition to it, if it is left unplugged, it would certainly become the hub of criminal activities. It is high time the authorities concerned act.

Heavy vehicles violating traffic norms

Even though the road connecting Kurubara Halli and the Outer Ring Road is HTV-prohibited, heavy vehicles ply on it. The road is always busy as it is connected to Laggere. The road has several potholes, which makes LMV drivers very difficult to use it.  The authorities concerned are requested to set right the road and make it strictly HTV prohibited.

Speed up work on road overbridge

Commuters from Banaswadi, Sevanagar, Kammanahalli, HRBR / OMBR Layout and Lingarajapuram seek the completion of a road overbridge near the Defence Land at Byappanahalli Railway Cross in Banaswadi.

They dread using the Byappanahalli Railway level-crossing to reach Maruthi Sevanagar and Banaswadi from Old Madras Road. A large number of vehicles ply on the either sides of the Railway crossing.

During peak hours, it takes more than half-an-hour to pass through the level crossing. It is estimated that on an average at least 28,000 vehicles pass through the level crossing every day.

The South Western Railway and the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike together, launched the construction project of a road overbridge at the level crossing on a cost-sharing basis. The construction work began in April, 2011. However, the project has remained incomplete towards the Old Madras Road.

Due to this, the commuters are facing nightmares every day. They are not able to reach their destinations in time. It was high time the government did something in this regard.

Garbage piles up in  Nagashettyhalli

Trash piled up on the side of Tata Nagar flyover in Nagashettyhalli, is creating a very unsanitary environment for people who have to pass through the stretch.

Flies and mosquitoes have been infesting over the filth and the stench in unbearable. This can lead to many diseases such as dengue and malaria.
It is becoming difficult to live in this unsanitary environment. A lot of students, including me, wait for the school bus right next to this garbage dump. The filth is also being eaten by cows and dogs.

I request BBMP to visit this area and take immediate action. They could place large bins at strategic points and have them cleared on a regular basis.

Asphalt this road at the earliest

I regularly commute from Whitefield to Krishnarajapuram and every time, I see the pothole along this road being filled with gravel. But there is no trace of tar in it. In a few hours, this jelly, spreads all over the road creating the same pot hole.

This spread gravel gets stuck in between rare wheels of heavy vehicles and as a consequence gets thrown like a bullet on vehicles following it. The front glass of my car has been damaged due to this. I request the concerned authorities to take action.

Dirty water from taps

The residents of 4th Main, 4th Phase, 7th Block, BSK III Stage are getting dirty water from the taps. This area comes under the jurisdiction of BWSSB, Banagirinagar, BSK III Stage. We have lodged repeated complaints in person with the authorities concerned.

The BWSSB had sent inspectors to test the water and the water pipe, and the inspector had collected the water twice for testing. He also suspected some defect or leakage in the pipe line and assured that he will check the same. But so far, nothing has been done.

The contaminated water is causing throat pain, skin irritations etc.
It is high time the concerned authorities look into the matter seriously and take immediate action to supply clean hygienic water in the interest of consumers health who are prompt tax payers.

No direct BMTC buses

There are no direct BMTC buses from Yelahanka to Basavangudi, making it inconvenient for students going to south Bangalore, as they have to change a number of buses and the travel time is more than 2 hours each way. BMTC is requested to start a direct bus service from Yelahanka to Basavangudi - with higher frequency during the peak hours.

Restore bus routes

These days, bus numbers 401 (and extensions), and 407, start and terminate at Yelahanka NES rather than Yelahanka Old Town/Santhe Circle. This has been causing a lot of problems to people in these respective areas, and also those people who have to catch connecting buses on Airport Road, especially at night.

Coincidentally after the Allalasandra Road was closed for construction of a railway flyover, this is the only bus which could operate on regular route, and despite that, they do not operate on full route.

Would the BMTC reintroduce full route to these buses?

Streetlights not working

Almost 3 to 4 street lights out of 6 are defunct in 35th Cross, 29th Main, Poornapragna Nagar, Subramanyapura PO.

I contacted the BBMP Street Light Division over the phone and every time I have been getting a positive reply. However, no action has been taken so far.
Kindly look into the problem. In the absence of street lights, it is difficult to commute in the dark.
