Sweeten up the season

Chocolate is loved by people of all ages. This Christmas season, many independent chocolate making companies have come out with a range of designer chocolates. They not only taste good but also look stunning.

‘Chocollatte Arts’, started by a chocolate-lover Harshini, has a variety of handmade chocolates. Cake pops, chocolate truffles, liquor chocolates, chocolate fountain, rum chocolates and cakes, choco Christmas trees, Santa chocolates, printed edible chocolates with Christmas messages are some of the specialities here.
“I started making chocolates as a hobby. It soon turned into my profession as I received a great feedback. I make designer chocolates like visiting card chocolates, edible photo frame chocolates, nutritive oats and cornflakes chocolates etc. The paan chocolate is my signature one as it is one-of-a-kind,” says Harshini. She also makes the unique customised pendant and earring chocolates.

‘Eat More Chocolates’, started by Anugya Sinha and her husband Varun Rao, makes fresh, hygiene, reasonably priced homemade chocolates. Letter-shaped chocolates with an edible chocolate box lid, message chocolates, heart-shaped chocolate lollypops are some of the specialities offered by this chocolate firm. Their Christmas specials include gingerbread man, Christmas trees, Santa Claus and plum cakes with frozen dark chocolate.

And these chocolates definitely don’t make a hole in your pocket as they are priced at Rs 15 and Rs 20 per piece.  “Varun and I run this venture. I am a media professional and Varun works in a software company. So ‘Eat More Chocolates’ is more like a passion for us. We take time out of our busy schedule to do this together. We brainstorm and combine our creative skills to make chocolates and provide the best customised chocolates to our clients,” says Anugya.

‘Pikasha Chocolate’ is another firm that was started by Priyaraj Srivastav and offers a range of chocolates including truffles, coconut chocolates, peanut chocolates, rum and raisins chocolates, lady kisses, ice cream with jelly belly and jam-based chocolates. “I went for a chocolate making course in Noida and started the firm in Delhi in 2012. I recently moved to Bengaluru and it has been just a month since I started ‘Pikasha Chocolate’ here in the City. The chocolates I make have special fillings and don’t have any preservatives or artificial flavours,” says Priyaraj.Chocolates can definitely lighten up one’s mood this festive season.
