<p>A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his wife with a pair of scissors and then committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>In an apparent suicide note written on their bedroom wall with a pen, the man blamed his wife for the extreme step. <br /><br />The cause of the alleged murder-suicide was “ego clash” between the couple, said the police, adding that the couple often fought over petty issues.<br /><br />Neeraj and Pooja, 32, had been married for nine years. They lived with sons Yash, 7, and Harsh, 5, on the first floor of a three-storey building in the Kailash Nagar area of Gandhi Nagar. <br /><br />Narrating the sequence of events, the police said Neeraj’s sister Bhawna was staying with the family for the past few days.<br /><br />“Around 8:30 pm on Friday, Bhawna went to Gandhi Nagar police station and reported that her brother had stabbed Pooja with a pair of scissors and was missing,” said a police officer. <br /><br />A team of local cops reached the couple’s house and found Pooja lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds on her face, neck, arms and stomach. <br /><br />She was declared dead on arrival at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.<br /><br />In her statement, Bhawna told the police she saw Yash and Harsh crying on the stairs when she returned home around 8 pm. They two told her their parents had had an argument, after which their father had left.<br /><br />The police found a note on the wall written about the incident allegedly by Neeraj. <br />“He wrote that he had killed Pooja and was now going to commit suicide. She was blamed for the deaths,” said the officer. <br /><br />Despite the note, the police initially suspected that Neeraj had fled after killing Pooja. <br />However, around 7 am on Saturday, his body was found on railway tracks in Kailash Nagar: Neeraj had jumped in front of a train.<br /><br />A case of murder has been registered with the Gandhi Nagar police station over Pooja’s death.<br /></p>
