Style-conscious tots outclass celebrities

For a parent, the most joyous part is to dress up the child and if the options available are designer then one is sure to get spoilt for choice. 

The two-day ‘India Kids Fashion Week 2015’ at The Grand in Vasant Kunj recently, was a perfect place for leading designers to show off their stunning creations for the young ones. 

One by one, the little elves made an appearance on the stage and stole hearts of all present with their adorable ramp walk in impressive attires. To add to this, was the presence of celebrities and few stellar performances that enthralled everyone.Day one of the event witnessed young models parading in trendy ensembles and edible organic make-up.

Medha Nanda of NONA showcased her collection ‘Lotus’ - a representation of three key facets, rebirth, purity and enlightenment; everything the lotus flower stands for. 

Ruhi Singh, Miss India Humanity and Peace, was the showstopper for this show while Femina Miss India World 2008, Parvathy Omanakuttan graced the ramp with the kids for the show by Sheena Creations, an online boutique for kidswear and accessories. Here the young boys and girls were seen walking the ramp in a riot of colours. 
Kirti Rathore presented an exquisite display of the culture of Rajasthan through her collection. Inspired by the festivals of Rajasthan her collection decked young ones in the opulence and style unique to the royals. 
The finale of the first day’s evening was a grand show by Kidology where ace designers from the fashion fraternity participated. While Gauri and Nainika presented ultra-feminine styles by dressing up little girls with old world charm from the fairy tales, Gaurav Gupta presented an eclectic mix of sophisticated yet fun collection. The highlight of the evening was the svelte actor and mother of two, Karisma Kapoor, who walked the ramp and taking the final bow with the kids, offered a perfect closure. 
The show on day two kickstarted with chef Kunal Kapoor and his nine-year-old son walking in style with boys wearing the Little Royals footwear. Later, Elisha Wadhwani showcased her maiden collection ‘Princess’, inspired by the afternoon soirees of France and the British tea parties. The collection primarily comprised gowns and dresses in soft spring hues that made the young models appear like princesses, who walked the ramp with singer Tulsi Kumar.
Nauti Nati showcased a quintessential party wear range in which Natasha Stankovic, Bigg Boss 8 contestant walked the ramp. Next in line, Kanchan Bawa’s outfits inspired by ‘sparkling smiles of the happy kids’ focused on the wearability factor and partywear. The high point of the show was the presence of Bollywood actor Anjana Sukhani and TV actor Shardha Arya.
