Justice Ramamohan Reddy, while rejecting a petition filed by one Nagaratna, noted that it is illegal to seek the benefit after the expiry of the deadline to secure the job.
Nagaratna’s husband BK Huchchaiah was a regular employee of Bangalore Development Authority. He died in 1996. Nagaratna submitted an application seeking job on compassionate grounds, the same year.
The BDA, however, did not entertain her application. She moved the court in 2009. The court observed that it was improper to seek the benefit after long gap.
