81 acres of government land reclaimed

The district authorities on Friday reclaimed 81 acres and eight guntas of land including 25 acres of lake land encroached upon by Infosys.

The eviction drive was carried out at Mylasandra village in Begur hobli where 12 acres of gomala land in survey numbers 80 and 81 were reclaimed. In Kannaminike 31 acres of gomala land out of 108 acres under encroachment was reclaimed by the authorities.

In Bukkasagara of Anekal taluk an illegal layout by name Vatika Pride on government land in survey numbers 96 and 180 was recovered. In Kammanahalli, 12 acres of land in survey number 20 was taken into the government possession. In Bengaluru North Taluk, four acres and 30 guntas of land in Marasandra Hobli of Hesaraghatta,  10 acres in Chokkanahalli granted to Jawaharlal Nehru Research Centre, which was encroached upon, were reclaimed. One acre and 26 guntas of land in a prime location in Bengaluru East Taluk was also recovered.


Meanwhile, a team of district authorities comprising Assistant Commissioner L C Nagaraj and Bengaluru South tahsildar Dr Dayanand measured eight acres of Banashankari temple land in survey number 60 of Jaraganahalli village in Uttarahalli hobli.
