Despite playing more then 50 contests with India in the past five years, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is keen for more and is planning to host Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men for three Tests and a tri-nation one-day series in July-August this year.

The two teams have played nine Tests, 39 ODIs and three Twenty20s against each other in the past five years.

But SLC wants more of India. “The Test series is almost certain of coming through. We are awaiting confirmation from India and New Zealand on the tri-nation series,” SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga was quoted as saying by ‘Cricinfo’.

The dates for the proposed series are not yet decided but Ranatunga said they would be held between July 9-24 (ODIs) and July 28-August 15 (the Tests).
India’s last full tour of Sri Lanka was in 2008 for three Tests and five ODIs.
