He was addressing a mammoth gathering at the National College grounds in Bangalore where K S Eshwarappa formally took charge as the state party president.

Gadkari said he is an MBA graduate and has his own research and development centre. Looking at Yeddyurappa he said,  “My centre gets information from all over the country. I have reports that the people of Karnataka are fully satisfied with you. Continue with your work. This is bound to get good results for the party in the neighbouring Kerala and Tamil Nadu”.

Earlier, Eshwarappa, who quit as Energy minister to take up the new responsibility, said Yeddyurappa will complete his term and no forces can destablise the party government.

“We did not come to power on money power.  Our workers have sacrificed a lot for bringing the party to power”, he said.  He admitted that there are some confusions regarding primacy given to old-timers and new comers to the party. “Both should be taken care of. They should mix like milk and sugar. We will ensure that all are taken into confidence.”

Eshwarappa also said there would be no room for casteism. “Many say that Ananth Kumar and Yeddyurappa are poles apart. But it is not so. They are like Chandragupta and Chanakya”, he added.
