The BJP National Vice President B S Yeddyurappa has threatened to besiege Vidhana Soudha if the State government did not waive farmers’ loans.

Speaking at “ Raitha Chaitanya Yatre” in Hebbur of Tumakuru district on Thursday, Yeddyurappa said that the State government was in a slumber even as Karnataka faced severe drought.

“ The chief minister has not been responding to the suggestion of the Speaker to call for a Assembly session for discussing drought situation in the State. Reservoirs have dried up and power famine too has surfaced. The State government has not submitted a factual report on drought to the Centre,” he said.

Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi though visited the State, had not been bothered to lend an ear to the plight of farmers. She said that the State government was shelving the projects which the BJP regime had introduced.
