Maggi Noodles relaunched in India

Nestle India finally announced the relaunch of the Maggi Noodles in the country on Monday, nearly five months after it was taken off the shelves for containing lead beyond permissible limits.

Interestingly, the company also decided to sell the popular brand of noodles through the online route by partnering Snapdeal.

“We are delighted to announce that your beloved Maggi noodles is back. The rollout has begun today. It has been a challenging period for the Nestle organisation and, therefore, there is a feeling of satisfaction at bringing back Maggi noodles to the market,” Nestle India said in a release on Monday.

“With the commencement of sale of Maggi noodles masala, we will make our best endeavour to reach the product to our consumers at the earliest. We are in touch with our channel partners and distributors to achieve this.They are enthusiastic about the reintroduction of Maggi noodles and are helping us in ensuring that our beloved Maggi noodles are available to consumers soon,” the company said.

Partners with Snapdeal
Separately, Nestle India said it is “pleased to partner with Snapdeal to rollout online offers to mark this special occasion”. The online retail giant was selling 12 packs for Rs 144 (70 gm each) and had sold out its stocks very soon.

Certain states only
However, the sale of Maggi noodles has been restricted only to certain states currently. “Most states do not have a ban on the sale of Maggi noodles, For states where specific directions are required, we are engaging with them,” Nestle India said.

Nestle India currently manufactures Maggi noodles at three locations at Nanjangud (Karnataka), Moga (Punjab), and Bicholim (Goa).

“For the other two locations at Tahliwal and Pantnagar, we are engaging with the relevant authorities to obtain directions to commence manufacture,” the company added.
