<p>The Delhi Police on Friday named former Delhi University professor S A R Geelani in a case registered over an event organised at the Press Club of India (PCI) here in which slogans were shouted, hailing 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.<br /><br /></p>.<p>On Thursday, an FIR was also lodged over a similar event organised at Jawaharlal National University in south Delhi.<br /><br />The latest FIR was filed with Parliament Street police station on Friday. The charges are under sections 124-A (sedition), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. According to police, the case was registered after taking suo motu cognisance of media reports.<br /><br />“We have also received a complaint from PCI. Geelani has been summoned to join investigation,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal. Geelani was acquitted in the 2001 Parliament attack case.</p>
