<p>The Delhi Police on Monday arrested the man who offered Rs 11 lakh to shoot JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Last week, the police had booked Adarsh Sharma, president of Purvanchal Sena, for defacing public property by plastering city walls with threatening posters.<br />On Sunday, he was booked under more serious charges.<br /><br />“He was arrested today (Monday) in the second half under the charges of criminal intimidation, abetment of crime and defacement of property,” said Jatin Narwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi).<br /><br />“We are verifying if the SIM card is issued is in his name or not, and will add further sections once verification is complete,” Narwal added.<br /><br />On Monday, the Delhi Police questioned Sharma in connection with the case registered over sticking posters in the city in which a reward of Rs 11 lakh was announced for shooting Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar.<br /><br />The poster said, “Whosoever shoots JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya will be rewarded Rs 11 lakh on the behalf of Purvanchal Sena.”<br /><br />He was questioned at a police station in New Delhi district.On Saturday, around 1,000 posters bearing the name of Sharma as the president of Purvanchal Sena were seen plastered on different parts of the city.<br /><br />Before his arrest, Sharma told Deccan Herald on Saturday that they have put up at least 1,500 posters in the city.<br /></p>
