Refusing to comment on opposition parties’ demand on resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K J George in connection with DySP M K Ganapathi’s suicide case, Congress floor leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said on Thursday that the Congress high command's intervention is not required in the issue.

“I am not having any details of the incident. As the matter is being discussed in the Assembly, I don’t want to comment on this”, Kharge told reporters.

However, he said, “It is Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's discretion whether to seek resignation of the minister. The party high command has no role in it.”

He said the chief minister will take appropriate decision and the party’s senior leaders intervention is not required. “How many times has the BJP top brass intervened when charges were levelled against their chief ministers and ministers?” he questioned.
