In the wake of the low-intensity explosion at the District Court Complex in the city on August 1, the police department will make elaborate security arrangements during Dasara.

Home Minister G Parameshwara, on Monday, said that the department is capable of providing necessary security to ensure people’s safety during the Dasara celebrations.

He was speaking to media persons at the District Armed Reserve (DAR) Parade Grounds, after attending Women Police Constables’ passing out parade. The minister said, “The police department will make effective security measures during Dasara to ensure safe celebration.”

Women police station

Parameshwara said that the government has decided to set up women police stations to handle cases related to women in every district.

The minister said, “Five police stations will be established at five district headquarters by the end of the year. The government will establish 35 stations across the state. The cases related to women in other stations will be transfered and handled in these stations.”

“The government will address wage issue of the police personnel soon. The state government has formed a committee to resolve the issue and the committee has already collected data from 15 states. Soon after the committee submits a comparative data, a decision will be taken,” he added.
