An intriguing performance

Blessing Chimanga Quartet will perform on January 7, 9.30 pm onwards, at Windmills Craftworks, Whitefield. It will feature Blessing Chimanga on vocals and marimba, Elisha Zimbeva on vocals and keyboards, Blessing Muparutsa on drums and vocals and Ronald Mhundwa on bass guitar, vocals and mbira.

The talented 24-year-old Blessing Chimanga, commonly known as Bled, plays drums, marimba and percussions. He is also a music director, arranger, songwriter and singer. He started his musical journey from Harare, Zimbabwe, where he finished his primary education from.

He moved to Prince Edward in 2004 for his secondary education where he furthered his career in music, by leading a jazz band while he was at Prince Edward. He has coached and mentored music at various schools in Zimbabwe such as Watershed College, Harare International School, Winad Musicology and Chisipite Senior School.

Blessing started his professional music career in 2006 when he started to play for the late Sam Mtukudzi and from that time he has played with many musicians in Zimbabwe and internationally such as Hope Masike.
