2 held for trafficking, 5 women rescued

In a joint operation, Mysuru City Crime Branch (CCB) police and Vidyaranyapuram police have arrested two persons on charges of immoral trafficking and have rescued five women from a house at JP Nagar, recently.

The accused have been identified as Thammannegowda alias Kunta (33), a resident of JP Nagar ‘D’ Block; and Diwakar (34), a resident of Kalenahalli in Mandya taluk.

The police have also recovered Rs 26,210 in cash, two mobile phones and one scooter.
The raid was conducted by a team lead by Inspectors Y P Chandrakala and G S Raghu, comprising SI H Ramesh, Ravi, S Manjunath, N Jeevan and Manjula, under the guidance of ACP C Gopal.

1.8 kg ganja seized, 2 held

Mysuru CCB sleuths have arrested two persons from a meat stall on KT Street near Sunni Chowk, and have recovered 1.80 kg ganja and Rs 1,750 in cash from the arrested.

The arrested have been identified as Chand Pasha (48) and Faraz Pasha (21), both residents of Lashkar Mohalla. The team, headed by Inspector Prasanna Kumar, comprising ASI Shantharaju, Asgar Khan, D Srinivas Prasad, Parvathamma, K M Mahadevappa and Shylesh, was guided by ACP C Gopal.
