Raids on 51 shops near schools for selling tobacco products

CCB sleuths on Friday raided 51 shops that were selling tobacco products in and around educational institutions in various parts of the city.

The police seized materials from 21 shops and closed them. The police had constituted 9 special teams for the operations, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) S Ravi.

The police have booked owners of all 51 shops under Cigarettes an-d Other Tobacco Products Act.
