The stage is set for the maiden India concert of pop sensation Justin Bieber, who is scheduled to perform at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.

The Canadian singer and songwriter will perform before a 45,000-plus audience amid tight security arrangements, including aerial monitoring by drones.

“We have made adequate security arrangements for the event,” Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said.

The 23-year-old singer is travelling as part of the Asia leg of Bieber’s ‘Purpose World Tour’ and this is his maiden performance in India. Celebrities who are expected to attend the concert include actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shraddha Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sonakshi Sinha.

The Asia leg of Bieber’s tour comprises performances in Tel Aviv and Dubai.  The Purpose World Tour has already vowed fans and critics alike across the United States, Canada and Japan last year. The Grammy award winner will tour Europe before landing in Australia and New Zealand this year. With more than 100 shows on the tour and close to a million ticket sales globally, Bieber is at the top of his game with this tour.

The hashtag ‘#PURPOSETOUR’ trended worldwide on Twitter for close to a week following the initial announcement in 2016.
