IT staff forum petitions against Tech Mahindra, Wipro

The Forum for IT employees (FITE) on Thursday petitioned the state labour commissioner to order Tech Mahindra and Wipro to stop “illegal” removal of employees immediately, and establish conciliation between the management and staff.

The petition, accessed by DH, states “On behalf of the Forum for IT employees, we request you to intervene and order Tech Mahindra authorities to stop such illegal removals forthwith.”

The petition said FITE fears that more than 10,000 employees in Tech Mahindra who have the lowest ratings in their last appraisal have either already resigned or are being forced to resign.

“The labour commissioner has assured us of speedy action in this case,” Rajesh N of FITE, Bengaluru chapter, told DH. He disclosed that the petition against Wipro has been filed by an individual, who was deceitfully forced to resign by Wipro.

The petition is backed by FITE. “The employee has not resigned despite being forced to, but a backend mail triggered by Wipro itself submitted the resignation on behalf of the employee,” added Rajesh.
