Two oil tankers, three other vehicles torched in Hassan

As tension prevailed in the city the district administration has clamped prohibitory orders as a precautionary measure. Security has been beefed up and police force is deployed at all places of worship.

According to the police, some youths on two- wheelers set fire to vehicles parked on the roadside.

Two tankers, a mini-truck, two cars and two shops were damaged in the fire. However, efforts to set fire to two other shops were foiled.
On Saturday, IGP (Southern Range) Jeevakumar Gaonkar, SP Sharathchandra and others visited the places and assessed the damage. IGP Gaonkar estimated the damage to be around Rs 48 lakh.
