The wheels of Dubai - Mangaluru Air India Express 814 flight ran over runway guiding lights while landing at Mangaluru International Airport around 5 am on Sunday.
When contacted, Airport Director V V Rao confirmed the same and added that there was no damage to aircraft, nor any passengers were affected. “It also took off without any delay on its return journey,” he added.
According to sources, six runway guiding lights were damaged when the aircraft slightly moved towards right side while landing, perhaps due to heavy rains and poor visibility. However, the aircraft did not skid off the runway. Interestingly, it is said, the incident came to light much later.
