Gond Samaj to felicitate Minister Revanna

Zilla Gond Samaj district unit will felicitate Minister for Transport H M Revanna during a function to be held at Beldale function hall in Bidar on October15.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, reception committee Chairman Mallikarjun Biradar said apart from Mr Revanna, Minister for Municipal Administration Eshwar Khandre who was elevated as cabinet minister recently, ZP President Bharatbai Sherikar will also be honoured on the occasion.

In past Mr Revanna fought for the cause of Gond community and raised their concerns on different forums. It was the efforts of leader like him that the community members are getting caste certificate hassle free. Taking into consideration all his efforts the community members have decided to felicitate him.

Mr Revanna will be taken in a procession after reaching city by road from Hyderabad. Thereafter, youths will take out a bike rally from Gumpa to the Beldale function hall where schedule event is been planned, he said.

Apart from leaders of Congress party, Gond community leaders such as former MLA Bandeppa Kashempur, MLC Raghunath Malkapure and elected representative to Zilla, Taluk Panchayat are invited. Nearly 10,000 members of the community from various parts of district are likely to attend the function on October 15, wherein different committees have been constituted for smooth conduct of the programme, he said.

Committee office bearers M S Katgi, Basavaraj Hede, Basavaraj Malge, Mallappa Adsare, Mohan Rao and others were present on the occasion.
