Hardik releases video, seeks revenge

Ahmedabad: Patel quota stir leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday put out a video urging his supporters to teach the BJP a lesson and "knock them out".

But Hardik did make any references to the party. A few days ago, two sleaze videos allegedly of Hardik went viral.

In the one-minute video that he shared on social media, Hardik says, "What did we ask? rights. Rights for the brighter future of the youth of our community. They gave us bullets, batons and atrocities on women…The Patel community has been cheated again. Now is the time to seek revenge..."

The video also comes a few days after Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said at a rally in Mehsana that it was not the time to seek revenge but change.

Hardik and his Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), that has been organising the quota stir in the state for over two years now, has been cosying up to the idea of reservations proposed by the Congress.

The PAAS had said that it found one of the three options proposed by the Congress to be viable and could stand judicial scrutiny in the Supreme court.

Hardik, who had earlier expressed apprehension that sleaze videos would surface as elections approaches, has had to spend days to defend himself, rather than focus on the key issue of finalising the PAAS's stand on the Congress's proposal.

Hardik has set a November 18 deadline to announce his decision after holding talks with elders from the community and leaders from Sardar Patel Group, another organisation that has been spearheading the Patel quota stir.

Hardik has also announced that he would continue to fight and disclose his side at a public function on the same day.
