The district police conducted raids at several places, arrested four persons and seized three country-made pistols and eight live bullets from them.
The arrested are Rustom Khalid Khan, a resident of Agrahara in the city, Chandrakanth George of Mailur, Balaji Anadur and Zaheer alias Nanne. They have been remanded in judicial custody, District Superintendent of Police D Devaraj said.
Khan, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, has been staying in the city for the last 25 years after he married a local woman. He had hidden the pistols in Bajaji's house. One pistol each was seized from the houses of George and Zaheer. The bullets were recovered from Zaheer's house.
Devaraj said investigation was underway as to how the suspects procured the weapons. The suspects were arrested during the raids on November 14
