Young graduates should become ambassadors to change India: scientist

"The country is surging forward. Today, we have the country showing exemplary growth and excellence in all fields such as Information Technology, Infrastructure, Navigation, Weather Monitoring, Nuclear. Young graduates should become ambassadors to change India," said Dr B N Suresh, Indian Aerospace Scientist and the former Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram.

Delivering a graduation address at the Graduation Ceremony, 2017, at Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), Moodbidri, he said "We need to synergise learning, research and knowledge. With continuous learning and thorough research and innovation, ideas are to be transformed into social wealth."

Suresh added, "The institute has trained students to work admirably. It is not enough to only learn, the country needs visionaries who can come forward and take the country to new heights, which can be achieved with greater goals. To achieve this, every individual has to put firm footsteps, and select a career destination that is closer to their Heart. Graduation is not the end of the journey but a start to explore new challenges towards innovation."

In addition to awarding the certificates to the Engineering Graduates and the Management Post Graduates, the toppers in each branch were felicitated with gold medals. Padmanabha Gadiyar of Mechanical Engineering, Anjana R of Computer Science Engineering, Likhithashreedevi of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Sharmila of Information Science & Engineering, Farisa Ibrahim of Civil Engineering, Vikas Pawar of Aeronautical Engineering and Sreerag P P of MBA received the gold medals.

Prof G R Rai, Advisor, MITE administered an oath to the graduates. Rajesh Chouta, President, Rajalaxmi Education Trust, in his presidential address called upon the graduates to be more committed to their profession and duty towards the nation building.
