Christmas interfaith meet held

Yakshagana and Talamaddale artiste Jabbar Samo said that the intricate values of all religions should reach the people.

He was speaking during the Christmas interfaith meet organised by St Aloysious College in Mangaluru on Monday.

Therefore it is also important to narrate the religious values in the local languages. Often, there are communication or language barriers while trying to understand the  teachings of other religions.

Stating that peace is the supreme value, and self-realisation is must to find peace in everyone and in the self, Jabbar Samo called upon the people forgive each other.

Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya Mangaluru campus in-charge B K Vishweshwari said that peace is the main religion of all and both the internal and external peace are equally important. Communal disharmony that we witness today is due to the lack of true spiritual knowledge and presence of wrong notions.

A J Hospital Medicine Department Head Dr E V S Maben said that peace is tranquility, harmony, security and prosperity put together. Quoting Bible he said blessed are the peacemakers because they are the children of God. Simple acts of caring and sharing can make us peacemakers.

Presiding over the programme, St Aloysius Institutions Rector Fr Dionysius Vaz said that we are spiritual beings having human nature. One must identify and invoke God within us. We must follow God's language and God's language is love, he added.

St Aloysius College Principal Fr Pravin Martis, Campus Minister Fr Alphonse, College Finance Officer and Coordinator of the programme Pradeep Sequeira and Convener Roshan Monteiro were present.
