Two injured as MLA's escort vehicle hits motorbike

Two farmers sustained serious injuries, after the vehicle accompanying MLA N Chaluvarayaswamy hit them, near Muruknahalli in the taluk on Tuesday.

The injured have been identified as Puttaswamy, 40, and Mahadeva, 30. Chaluvarayaswamy was bound for Mysuru, after attending a Congress party meeting in the town, when the vehicle hit a motorbike which the duo were riding near a dhaba in the village.

Puttaswamy suffered a fracture on his left hand. Both were administered first aid at the Taluk Hospital and later shifted to K R Hospital in Mysuru, for further treatment.

As Cheluvarayaswamy did not stop his vehicle, even though two persons were injured in the mishap, the public vent their ire by staging a road block. However, they withdrew the protest after Circle Inspector H B Venkateshaiah told them that both the injured have been provided treatment.
