Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Tuesday severely criticised the Opposition members for not allowing the House to function normally, calling their protests on various issues as "insensitive politics."

She came down heavily on the agitating members of various Opposition parties as they refused to relent and go back to their seats to listen to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Swaraj wanted to tell the Lok Sabha about 39 Indians who were kidnapped by the Islamic State terror group in Mosul city of Iraq and killed a few years ago.

Mahajan also expressed her inability to bring a notice of no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government amid the din and rejected it for the third consecutive day as the Opposition members continued creating a ruckus over their demands.

YSR Congress member Y V Subba Reddy and TDP's Thota Narasimham and Jayadev Galla had given notice for no-confidence motion against Modi government.

The Speaker, who first adjourned the House soon after it assembled in morning to take up the Question Hour, later called it a day in the noon. The YSR Congress submitted a fresh notice for a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha against the Modi government.

She adjourned the proceedings of the Lok Sabha for the day to meet against on Wednesday at 11 pm, expressing her displeasure with the Opposition which has kept the proceedings of the Lower House stalled since the second sitting of Budget Session of Parliament began on March 5.

"This is not proper. Please. Do not be so insensitive. Please do not indulge in such politics. She (Swaraj) wants to tell about the death of 39 Indians and you do not want to listen," Mahajan said while repeatedly urging agitating legislators to go back to their seats to allow external affairs minister speak.

As soon as Swaraj rose from her seat to speak on the death of 39 Indians in Iraq, Opposition members began shouting loud slogans.

"We have now got evidence of their death. But, I can not make a statement on such a serious matter when the House is not in order," Swaraj said.

Members of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) trooped into the Well of the House pressing for their demands soon after the House assembled for the day while the Congress and other Opposition parties were up in arms, raising their issues from their seats.
