As a precautionary measure in the background of forthcoming Assembly elections, police commissioner has issued an order for the externment of two persons in the twin cities.
Dattu Ladwa (41) of Manoj Park at Keshwapur in Hubballi, who is facing three cases including cheating, is externed from Dharwad district to Ballari district. Muktumsab Sogalad (32) of Pendargalli in Dharwad, who is facing four cases including rape, has been externed from Dharwad district to Chitradurga district.
There is a possibility that these persons may create fear among people, have undue influence of elections and disturb peace and order during the elections. Therefore, they are externed. Those who would disturb peace would be externed or Goonda Act would be invoked against them, Police Commissioner M N Nagaraj said.
