Woman sets husband on fire

Nagaraj (22), a resident of Kamalanagar, who sustained burn injuries is battling for life in Victoria Hospital.

Basaveshwarnagar police  said Nagaraj, a painter, married Vedavati (20) just two months ago. Nagaraj was an alcoholic and there used to be frequent quarrels between the couple over this. On Monday, Nagaraj returned home in an inebriated state and an argument ensued.

Irked by this, Vedavati doused him with kerosene, set him ablaze and fled from the house. A few neighbours rushed inside and shifted him to the hospital.
