Riding high on success, the actor is keeping his fingers crossed for his upcoming movies Shourya and Boss.

“Whenever I have teamed up with Kokila Sadhu, we have become successful. It may be the music of Laali Haadu or films like Suntaragali and Anatharu. We have put in the same synergy for Shourya. Though it is a re-make of Telugu movie Shouryam, Sadhu has altered the film according to the tastes of Kannada audience. In the other movie Boss, I have a dual role. Boss will thrill the audience with its action and will delight them with its comedy,” says the self-made superstar who rose to the top slot in Sandalwood after his initial struggles.

Darshan, who started off with small banner projects in the beginning of his career, has now become the hot favourite of producers. He has six projects in hand and most of them are from big banners. “The next project I would be taking up is Prince by Om Prakash Rao. Nikita will be my heroine for the second time. I have accepted Chingari, choreographer Harsha’s third directorial venture as well,” says Darshan who is all geared up to essay one of the iconic freedom fighters of Karnataka.

It was the dream of Dr Rajkumar to play Sangolli Rayanna, the freedom fighter from Kittur region. Now, Darshan has bagged the opportunity to give life to this role in Naganna’s upcoming flick Veera Sangolli Rayanna.

“As an actor, I should keep sharpening my acting skills. Once in a while, special offers like this comes our way and I feel lucky to portray the legendary Rayanna’s role. Anand Appugol is producing the movie under the directorship of  Naganna. Naganna is an amazing director and I am looking forward to work with him.”

He was asked to put on weight to suit the character of Rayanna and the actor readily agreed for it. “If the role demands, then I am ready to work on my physique. After Nanna Preethiya Ramu, which brought critical applause for my performance, I am taking up a challenging role again. I never hesitate to try new roles, but at the same time I don't want to experiment with other people’s money. If I feel like doing something, I will do it on my own.”

However, the actor doesn’t have any plans to try his luck in other languages. “I don’t find the need to go elsewhere as I am king here. I have to cross many more milestones here itself,” he clarifies.

In spite of having such a tight schedule, how does he find time for his family? “While in the City, I don’t work on Sundays, the day is meant for my family. My only weakness is automobiles. I have a craze for vehicles and love driving all kinds of motor vehicles,’’ says the actor who owns a Hummer and wants to buy an Audi soon.
