Teacher attempts to end life

Parents and villagers had alleged that Gururaj, a teacher at government school in Nallur village of the taluk was molesting a student of the sixth standard. The teacher was reportedly humiliated and abused. It was also decided to get the teacher transferred from the school.

While Gururaj vehemently denied the charges, the girl in question had given a statement indicting the teacher.

In view of the allegations, Gururaj, it is said attempted suicide by consuming poison. He is reportedly recovering at the general hospital.
