Net sales was down 23 per cent to Rs 30.70 crore for Q1 FY'2010-11 from Rs 39.72 crore for the corresponding period in the last fiscal, Balaji Telefilms said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In the said quarter, the company suffered an operating loss of Rs 5.69 crore, from an operating profit of Rs 81 lakh, on account of reduction in the number of telecasted programming hours from 174 hours to 147 hours, the filing said.
Initial launch expenses incurred on new shows in the commissioned category on Star Plus, Zee TV and Imagine TV in May and June also contributed to the dip.
