Bangalore police wanted to take Salman and Shahzad, facing charges in September 13, 2008 serial blasts here, into their custody to quiz them about the role and alleged involvement of Indian Mujahideen in carrying out the blasts on April 17 there.
The stadium was rocked by two low intensity bomb blasts just an hour before the Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers, Bangalore, was scheduled to start.

The application, which was moved the second time before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Santosh Snehi Mann, was kept pending as the presence of accused were required here for framing of charges.

"Since the matter is at crucial stage of trial, the application is kept in abeyance with the liberty to the police to press after framing of charges here," the court said.
The court also restrained the authorities at Tihar jail, where both the accused are at present lodged, from allowing Bangalore police to take them into custody on the production warrant.

A Bangalore police officer appeared in the court with a fresh production warrant against the duo Salman and Shahzad arrested by Uttar Pradesh police this year.
A similar application had been moved in the court here by the Bangalore police in July as well.
