He said on Friday, Dharmender will contest from Mangaluru South. Suresh B Saliyan from Mangaluru north.

He said 90 candidates will be fielded under the banner of Saffron Front comprising Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Shiva Sene, Sanathana Hindu Jana Jagruthi Samithi, Sri Rama Sene and Sampoorna Bharathiya Kranthi Paksha. Sri Rama Sene will field 35 candidates and 15 by Sampoorna Bharathiya Kranthi Paksha. Praveen Togadia has been invited to speak as part of the campaign.

He said that to give an alternative to the Congress and the BJP, the Saffron Front will be launched soon after the last date to file nominations. The elections are contested on the basis of money. It is difficult to a field a candidate who will uphold the principles of truth and justice.

On the division of votes with the Hindu Mahasabha contesting, he said the Hindu Mahasabha had not contested the elections all these years for the same reason. For the first time, a CM was imprisoned on charge of corruption during the BJP tenure. Yet, B S Yeddyurappa has been chosen as a chief ministerial candidate.

Candidate Dharmendra said, if elected, the Mahasabha will form a special police force to protect the women in the state.

He said that the Mahasabha had sought the cap as a symbol from the Election Commission.
