Valentine's Day is finally here, much to the delight of countless young lovebirds. While there are numerous things one can do to make the special occasion more memorable, watching movies with the 'bae' is arguably the pick of the lot. Here is a look at five films to watch with your loved one.

Mughal-e-Azam (Hindi/Urdu,1960)

Widely regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time, the period-drama revolved around the romantic relationship between the Mughal prince Salim (the future Jehangir) and a 'kanees'. The K Asif-helmed biggie featured some stellar scenes between Dilip Kumar and the late Madhubala, which clicked with one and all. The crackling chemistry between the two legends added new life to the already engaging narrative, redefining the tenets of Indian cinema.

Maro Charitra (Telugu, 1978)

The K Balachander-helmed movie explored the relationship between a Telugu 'ammayi' and a Tamil man while highlighting the issues faced by them due to cultural differences. Kamal Haasan and Saritha did justice to their roles and made it easy for fans to relate to the reel action. The blockbuster was remade in Hindi as Ek Duuje Ke Liye with 'Ulaga Nayagan' reprising his role from the original version.

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (Hindi, 1988)

Widely regarded as the film that established Aamir Khan as a star, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was a gripping romantic drama with the shades of classic love stories such as Heer-Ranjha and Laila-Majnu. The film received rave reviews for its effective presentation and catchy songs, emerging as a game-changer for Indian cinema. The cast included Juhi Chawla, Dalip Tahil and 'Goga' Kapoor.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (Hindi, 1995)

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which is regarded as an 'emotion' rather than a mere movie, emerged as a big hit at the box office while receiving encouraging reviews from the janta. The scenes involving the leading pair Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol hit the right notes due to the crackling chemistry between the 'golden couple'. Salt N' Pepper (Malayalam, 2011)

The unconventional romantic comedy revolved around what happens when an ageing man falls in love with a young dubbing artiste following a misunderstanding. The movie was praised for using love for food as a narrative device. It had a stellar cast headlined by Lal and Shwetha Menon.
