Challenging Star Darshan starrer Roberrt film seems to have revived 'Achhe Din' for the Sandalwood.

The film evoked huge response on Day One on Thursday reviving memories of Day One of the releases of blockbusters over a year ago.

The Telugu version of the movie was also released simultaneously.

The film was released on about 1,000 screens, including 650 in Karnataka and about 300 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. At several places, shows were organised at 6 am considering serpentine queues of the audiences. At some places, the audience thronged the theatres at midnight for tickets.

"The first show started at 6 am at many places. We have permitted additional screening in over 300 theatres," producer Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda said.

"We released tickets just two days before the release of the movie. All tickets have been," he said.

There was a huge response even on BookMyShow, India's largest entertainment ticketing website. Despite tickets priced at Rs 350 and Rs 450, all of them were sold out.

Director Tharun Sudhir said,"We are thrilled to see the response. We didn't anticipate this. Theatres that screened the film at 6 am were also housefull."

Roberrt, one of the much-awaited films of last year, is the first major film to be released this year. Road for the film seems to be easy as no major releases are lined up until Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Yuvaranta slated for the release on April 1.

The crew had to face some embarrassment as fans poured beer on the actor's cutout and conducted 'Abhisheka' at Trimurthy theatre in Tiptur in Tumakuru district. Some of them even consumed it. A video on the incident went viral which drew flak.
