'Master' deleted scene: Vijay's swag leaves fans asking for more

'Master' was supposed to hit the screens last year but that did not happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic

The streaming giant Amazon Prime Video on Saturday shared a deleted a scene from actor Vijay's latest movie Master much to the delight of 'Thalapathy' fans. The video revolves around the protagonist's attempts at dealing with an unexpected situation and has enough 'masala' to satisfy the janta. The actor's body language and swag are the big highlights of the clip and up its recall value.

Master, directed by Kaithi helmer Lokesh Kanagaraj, hit the screens on January 13 as the first release of the Pongal season. It opened to a thunderous response at the box office despite the fact that theatres were operating at 50 per cent capacity to ensure social distancing. The film emerged as Vijay's third consecutive hit after Sarkar and the Bigil.

It subsequently released on Amazon Prime Video, proving to be a digital blockbuster. The general perception is that the overwhelming response to the film helped the streamer consolidate its standing in Tamil Nadu.

The biggie revolved around the clash between a rowdy professor and god-fearing villain. It starred Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist and marked his first collaboration with the Mersal hero. The cast included Andrea Jeremiah and Petta star Malavika Mohanan.

Vijay, meanwhile, is set to collaborate with director Nelson for a film being referred to as Thalapathy 65. The movie has a hatke storyline and is likely to feature the star in a new avatar. The film was originally supposed to be helmed by AR Murugadoss but that did not happen.

Vijay may also team up with noted filmmaker H Vinoth after he wraps up work on Ajith Kumar's Valimai. If this happens, it will mark the director's second collaboration with an 'A-lister'. He had previously wielded the microphone for Thala's Nerkonda Paarvai, an adaptation of the Bollywood film Pink. One is likely to get clarity of the Vinoth-Vijay movie in the coming weeks.
