Sunny Deol to return in 'Jaat 2'; sequel announced amid 'Jaat' box-office success

Amid the roaring success of Sunny Deol starrer Jaat, the makers have announced its sequel. On Thursday, the makers took to social media and shared an announcement nearly a week after Jaat’s release. Releasing a fresh poster, the makers wrote:

#JAAT is not resting after the blockbuster at the box office 💥

He is on to a new mission. This time, the MASS FEAST will be bigger, bolder, and wilder 💪

The surprise announcement has sparked joy within the film industry. Sunny Deol, fresh off his success with Gadar 2, is once again ruling the big screen and pulling audiences back into theatres with Jaat.

Sunny Deol’s latest release Jaat, is making waves at the box office and is on track to cross the Rs 100-crore mark in the coming days. Earlier, his movie Gadar 2 reported a collection of close to Rs 700 crore and stood out as one of 2023’s biggest blockbusters.

Set against the backdrop of a remote coastal village in Andhra Pradesh, Jaat tells the gripping tale of Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda), a ruthless criminal who holds the region in a grip of fear. The balance shifts when an outsider, Jaat (Sunny Deol), arrives and challenges his authority, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle to bring justice and peace to the troubled village.

The film's supporting cast includes Saiyami Kher as SI Vijaya Lakshmi, Regina Cassandra as Bharathi, Vineet Kumar Singh as Somulu, Prashant Bajaj as Sandy and Jagapathi Babu as CBI Officer Sathya Murthy.

Jaat is directed by Gopichand Malineni. It has been produced by Naveen Yerneni, Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, T G Vishwa Prasad, and Umesh Kumar Bansal under the banners of Mythri Movie Makers, People Media Factory and Zee Studios.
