Golden jubilee of Tulu play

The 50th show of Tulu play ‘Bile Kattare Aavandina’ will be held at Town Hall in Mangaluru at 5 pm on September 30.

Addressing media persons, Convener Sainath Shetty Mundkur said the play, written by Harish Padubidri and directed by Jagadish Shetty Kenchanakere, will be staged by Vijaya Kalavidaru, Kinnigoli from the last 20 years, in association with Yugapurusha. The programme will be sponsored by the Department of Kannada and Culture, he added.

Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple priest Lakshminarayana Asranna will grace the occasion.

Former minister K Abhayachandra Jain will preside over the programme. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will felicitate art patrons. Vishwa Buntara Sanghagala President Aikala Harish Shetty will felicitate the artistes. Mumbai Buntara Sangha Mathrubhumi Cooperative Bank Chairman Mundkur Rathnakar Shetty will present ‘Pratibha Puraskara’. Yugapurusha President Bhuvanabhirama will speak on the artistes, he explained.

There will be a musical evening programme prior to the play. Entry is free, he said.

Kinnigoli Vijaya Kalavidaru Honourary President Kodettur Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, President Sharay Shetty, Secretary Lakshman B B, organiser Sudhakar Salian and Yakshagana Bhagavat Patla Satish Shetty were present in the press meet.
