After the mass deaths, samples were sent to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD) laboratory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, which confirmed the presence of the bird flu virus.</p><p>On Tuesday, East Godavari district collector P Prashanthi held a high-level meeting with the officials of the police, revenue, animal husbandry, and forest departments to discuss the contingency plan.</p><p>As a precautionary measure, Prashanthi said a one-kilometer radius around Kanuru has been declared a "red zone," a 10-kilometer radius has been identified as a "surveillance zone," and Section 163 of the BNSS has been clamped in the affected areas.</p>.Rahul Gandhi to visit Warangal in Telangana.<p>Authorities mandated the burning of all poultry and eggs within a one-kilometre radius of the affected poultry farm, and already 75 per cent of the stock has been destroyed. The authorities are now conducting a house-to-house survey within a 10-kilometre radius of Kanuru village to monitor potential cases of bird flu.</p><p>Chicken shops in the affected areas were asked to remain closed for the next few days, and the residents experiencing symptoms should contact the control room at 9542908025 between 8 am and 6 pm.</p><p>With the outbreak of bird flu, neighbouring Telangana has also sounded an alarm. Around 24 checkpoints have been set up along Telangana borders. Authorities have set up three checkpoints in the former Nalgonda district alone, and they are redirecting vehicles transporting poultry from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana.</p>
