An 11-year-old girl in east Delhi’s Nand Nagri was reportedly molested by her father for a few days before she revealed it all to her mother on Friday.
The girl’s mother approached the local police station over the matter, following which he was arrested from home.
The police said the man, who does odd jobs for a living, has confessed to his crime.
The girl, a class V student at the local government school, had become unusually silent over the past few days. Her mother became suspicious and tried to ask her if anything was wrong, but to no avail.
On Friday morning, the girl refused to stay back home with her father while her mother was going to a temple on the occasion of Navratra.
The mother agreed to take the girl along after she began crying.
On the way back from the temple, the woman asked her daughter why she did not want to be with her father.
